silence

Lifeguard
california, this place knows me

or rather, the God who knows me, has brought me to this place

these days dawn as I do

awaking, as if from a bad dream

trying to ease into life, grey, muddled and muted

sweetly slipping away from yesterday

       into hoping… trusting

       for a beautiful today

that comes gradual, bright sun and blue skies

golden light bathing, the sea awaking

bursts of flower buds and people living,

              dancing, running, eating, talking, dreaming…

into quiet night where the day

       dies in glorious flames

or washes away in turquoise slumber,

breathing out it's last beauty

leaving you alone, silent in the darkness,

       waiting,

waiting, for the dawn's sure return…

  • Mimi - I’m a native of San Diego! We moved from Ca. 8 years ago. I am missing those Ca. sunsets. Can’t wait to see some pics =)
